So an update on our dad:
We managed to arrange for him to be flown from New York back to Japan the other night. He was transferred instantly to the hospital here in Maiami City who have been assessing his injuries.
Looks like the only serious injury was to his left leg, but it's badly broken. Today they will be taking him in for an operation to set the bones right so they can heal correctly. We're hoping we'll have him home in the next few days, but he has months of healing to do, if not longer. The hospital aren't sure yet how the leg will heal and if he'll ever be able to go back to Action Dueling. Sadly only time will tell for that.
Other than this, any other injuries he has are minor, which is honestly a miracle considering the height he fell from and he's in fairly good spirits despite everything.
It's certainly been a stressful last few days for us all as a family. I think it's catching up a little with me, but I honestly feel I can't rest until dad is safely home with us.
----------------------------------

*Yuto is sat at a table hidden away in the corner of a very busy café in Domino City. So busy in fact that most of the seats are taken and the only free one seems to be on his table.
He seems a little tired and absent as he stares into the barely touched cappuccino he has in front of him.
He looks like he probably could use the company for a bit.*

*geeze why are these cafes always so busy around now I just wanted to get a coffee or something to warm me up since it's getting so cold out and everythin--
wait a minute I know that purple and black hair. Yuzu ponders a moment, and abandons trying to wait in line to get to the counter, and approaches the table*
Room for one more?

*The familiar voice snaps Yuto out of his daze as he looks up. He then gives Yuzu a friendly smile and a nod.*
Of course.

*sitting down to join you. She's... obviously worried, though she's trying reaaaaally hard to not show it. she might not have the best poker face when she's not putting on a show.*
How're you holding up?

I'll admit that I haven't really slept much since the accident happened. There's been a lot to sort out and a lot of uncertainties, but hopefully once we have dad back at home with us, things will calm down a bit.
*He tiredly rubs his face a little.*
I was hoping that getting out of the house and getting some fresh air for a bit would clear my head a little.

*Yuzu looks down a bit*
Has getting out helped you at all, at least?
no subject
A little. Though I think I was slightly zoning out before you came over.
But I'm glad you did. Having company really helps.
*He finally takes a sip of his cappuccino. Drinking this before it goes cold will also probably help.*
Though I hope I'm not keeping you from any plans.

*looks at the busy line that's still going on*
I think I can wait on that. If my company helps at all, then I'm glad I came in here.

I definitely appreciate it.
*He glances at the line too.*
And I guess I can help you kill time until the queue dies down a bit. I'm lucky I came in here just before this rush.
But I guess it is getting colder, so more people are seeking hot drinks.
And indoor seating.

Thaaat's for sure, not a lot of people are just gonna get one and go these days, their drinks'll end up cooling off before they even get to it.
But that makes it better if I wait a bit, anyway.
*she gives a little smile, to try to be comforting about this*
Have you managed to write anything, right now?
no subject
A little. Mostly personal stuff lately. It's sort of how I tend to process things.
*He brings a small black book out of a bag he has with him.*
I tend to bring my personal writing book with me everywhere I go, in case I get an idea or something I want to write down.

Yeah. You're right. It's good to have an outlet for things, especially when things are rough.
It helps me collect my thoughts better, which otherwise tend to be a bit of a jumbled mess when I'm not particularly having a good day.
